Lowcountry braces for winter storm

Goose Creek and the rest of the Lowcountry is under a Winter Storm Warning on Jan. 30, as up to 5 inches of snow is a possibility for Saturday, Feb. 1.
Remember to drip your faucets overnight and when temperatures drop below freezing to avoid water pipes freezing. Also, cover outside spigots.
Please plan to avoid driving during periods of icy road conditions whenever possible.
Warming Center Updates:
Goose Creek United Methodist Church at 142 Red Bank Road will remain open Friday, Jan. 30, through Sunday night, beginning at 7pm. Seacoast Summerville at 301 E. 5th North Street will be open Friday and Saturday night, beginning at 7pm. Seacoast North Charleston at 5505 N Rhett Avenue will be open Friday night through Sunday night, beginning at 7pm. First Baptist Church in Goose Creek (141 St. James Avenue) will be a shelter during the upcoming winter storm if needed.
