What is Therapeutic Recreation?
The Goose Creek Therapeutic Recreation division is designed for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. We are passionate about inclusive lifestyles, providing resources, and serving our special needs community in diverse, fun, and intentional ways. Therapeutic Recreation is intended for individuals to participate in a variety of activities that will be inclusive and adaptable to different needs. This program is a great way to explore interests, stay active, and socialize with peers.

Yoga
Description: Join us for stretching, breathing, balance, and mental wellness with Erika and Freckled Bloom Yoga. This will be a great way to stay active and build healthy habits. Please bring your own yoga mat!
Dates: Tuesdays, May 6, May 20 (please note that these dates are NOT weekly)
Time: 11am-12pm
Cost: FREE but please bring your own yoga mat
Location: Goose Creek Activity Center (519A N Goose Creek Blvd)
Golf
Description: In partnership with Crowfield Golf, enjoy 3-weeks of skills and the final week playing a quick round of golf. Instructed by Will Forrest and lots of fun for all! You do not need golf experience or golf clubs to attend. However, if you have your own clubs- please bring them!
Date: Tuesdays, May 6-27
Time: 6-7pm
Ages: Best for ages 8+
Cost: Resident $10, Non-Resident $15
Location: Crowfield Golf Club (300 Hamlet Circle)
Bowling (Monday Evening)
Description: Bowling is a fan favorite, and a great way to connect with friends and build skill. The cost is the total for 6-weeks, includes shoes and 2 hours of bowling.
Dates: Mondays, May 12-June 23
Time: 6pm-8pm
Cost: Resident $45.00, Non-Resident $60.00
Location: Royal Lanes (106 Central Ave)

Superhero Party Movie Night
Description: We are super excited to kickstart summer & we are halfway to Halloween! Dress up in your best superhero costume, enjoy superhero crafts, and spend an evening with friends watching The Incredibles on the big screen! Pizza dinner provided.
Date: Friday, May 23
Time: 6pm-9pm
Cost: FREE!

Father’s Day Activity
Description: A teamwork activity with participants and their father figures! Participants will paint their dad and vise versa for a morning of giggles and fun. Snacky brunch items will be provided.
Date: Saturday, May 31
Time: 10am-11:30am

Tandem Adaptive Trike Usage
This tricycle will allow our therapeutic participants to feel the joys of riding a bike independently. Individuals are required to bring a helmet when riding. More information can be found here.
