NOTICE OF ELECTION 

Notice is hereby given that the Berkeley County Board of Voter Registration and Elections will conduct the General Election for the City of Goose Creek on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Any person wishing to vote in this election must register no later than Sunday, October 05, 2025. Voter registration by mail forms will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, October 6, 2025.

Only the electors living within the municipal boundaries of the City of Goose Creek may participate in this election.

Any person wishing to register to vote in this election in person must do so no later than Friday, October 3, 2025, by 5:00 PM at the Berkeley County Voter Registration Office. Voter Registration online, by fax, or by email must be entered by 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025.  Voter registration by mail applications will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, October 6, 2025.

Candidate Filing Period

Filing Opens: 12:00 PM, Noon on Friday, August 1, 2025
Filing Closes: 12:00 PM, Noon on Friday, August 15, 2025

Filing Fee

The filing fee for City Council is $100.
Filing fee checks should be made payable to: Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections

State Ethics Filings: Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission. Failure to file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the election.  Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information. 

Early Voting

The early voting period for this election begins on Monday, October 20, 2025, and ends on Friday, October 31, 2025. The following early voting centers will be open during the early voting period from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (closed weekends).

Absentee Ballot Examination

At 9 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025, the Berkeley County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes at 1003 Highway 52 Moncks Corner SC 29461.

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10 AM, the Berkeley County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in the election. These hearings will be held at 1003 Highway 52 Moncks Corner SC 29461.

2025 Municipal General Election

City Offices scheduled for the November 4, 2025, election include:

  • City Council: Member At-Large (3 Seats)

2027 Municipal General Election

City Offices scheduled for the November 2, 2027, election include: 

  • Mayor
  • City Council: Member At-Large (3 Seats)

The following location will be open during the 2025 Municipal General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the: City of Goose Creek Activity Center, 519 N Goose Creek Boulevard, Building F, Goose Creek, SC 29445

§ 6.5 Signs for which a Permit is Not Required:

(A) A permit shall not be required for the following types of signs, provided all other applicable provisions of this Ordinance are met. Such signs shall not be considered in determining the allowable number or size of signs on a lot.

(16) Signs During Elections and Referendums: During the Period thirty (30) days prior to an election or referendum appliable to citizens of the City of Goose Creek and seven (7) days after such an election or referendum, a property owner or tenant in possession may post up to four (4) non-commercial signs and another one for each one hundred (100) feet of street frontage. Signs shall not exceed eight square feet per sign face in residential areas and thirty-two (32) square feet in commercial areas.
