City of Goose Creek

A new year has officially begun for Goose Creek City Council, as Councilmembers Melissa Enos-Sims, Corey McClary and Gayla McSwain were sworn into office at City Hall.

The swearing-in ceremony preceded a Jan. 13 City Council meeting that saw members unanimously select Councilmember Jerry Tekac to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. He previously served in that capacity from 2020 to 2022.

Councilmembers Enos-Sims, McClary and McSwain's new, four-year term will run from Jan. 2026 to Jan. 2030. The other three City Council seats, along with the Mayor's seat, will be up for election in the fall of 2027.

Councilmember Enos-Sims was sworn into office by Rep. Brandon Cox, who serves in the South Carolina House of Representatives and is a former Goose Creek City Councilmember. Councilmember McClary was sworn into office by Mayor Greg Habib, and Councilmember McSwain was sworn in by Goose Creek City Clerk Kelly Lovette.
